Looking up at the swimming pool that the park creates in the summer by damming up the creek. One of the upper falls in Stony Brook State Park, NY, which is about 50 minutes south of Rochester. Very beautiful park with many wonderful waterfalls. Back at Stony Brook State Park before the trails were opened for the year. Not the safest place to hike right now, for example this fallen tree across the trail. More fun is the 4-5 inches of ice on the trail from where water drips down from above. Going through some of my older pictures that I never got a chance to post. This flower was growing in a muddy area near a foot trail in Oatka Park. Took a quick trip over to Mondon Ponds Park tonight with Sammy. Trying to get to a few different places before we move back to Michigan. Two weeks left, so many places I'd like to go. Likely will never be back in Rochester after this move. Looking upstream at the Paper Mill Falls. The bridge at the top of the falls is covered with graffiti likely because of its easy access. The water at the bridge's base is only 4-6 inches deep. This bridge is only used for foot traffic now, but it appears to of either been part of the mill or an old road bridge. Beyond the foot bridge is the current road bridge which has an old mill grinding stone carved from rose colored granite on each of its sides. Ants were slowly making their way up to the flowers of these two thistles and back down to their hills near the base of these plants. Orange daylily in my mom's garden. This sunflower blossom reminded me of Audrey in the 80's remake of the Little Shop of Horrors. Taken at Kiteley Farms in Charlevoix, MI while picking blueberries and raspberries. Taken near the parking lot of Kiteley Farms in Charelvoix. South shore of North Manitou Island looking roughly southwest. North Manitou is a small island off the coast of the Leelanau Peninsula in Northern Michigan. Its has backcountry camping which is why we were there. This was from the first night when we setup camp in the dunes on the south coast.
